After the fog started to lift, the cards stopped coming, the food was no longer being delivered, and the house was still, I realized I was really a widow. Not only was I a widow, but I was a widow in a town of no other widows my age. I felt deeply alone, disconnected, and lonely.
Through the writing and blogging community, I met other wonderful widows. I realized I wasn’t as alone as I had previously thought. My grandmother’s old adage, “someone always has circumstances more difficult than your own,” became inherently true. I met women who were widowed at age 30. Women whose husbands were killed in plane crashes. Women whose husbands drown. Women who were left to raise teenagers. Women who were left with no family. Women who were left with toddlers and infants to raise. These were strong and amazing women. I found encouragement in their stories.
Below is a compilation of FEEDPOST.COM top Widow Blogs for 2020. I hope you will find encouragement. Don’t hesitate to message these authors. Remember, we are all in the same boat, just trying to readjust our sails.
